DVP vacuum pumps with PFPE oil for modified atmosphere packaging

Lubricated Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps with PFPE Oil: your solution for modified atmosphere packaging

Increasingly used in the food packaging industry, modified atmosphere or protective packaging (MAP) extends the shelf life of fresh food without adding additives. To meet this specific application, DVP Vacuum Technology has developed the series of Lubricated Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps with PFPE oil from 8 to 365 m3/h.

Modified atmosphere packaging preserves the organoleptic properties of fresh foods for longer and keeps them from spoiling thanks to gas mixtures, generally carbon dioxide, nitrogen and oxygen, contained in the atmosphere inside the package.

When the percentage of oxygen is high, the use of traditional oils in the pumps located inside the packaging machines can cause dangerous situations for the working environment. The right solution is the use of the DVP series of Lubricated Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps with PFPE oil, the special range of pumps with a distinctive red color.

PFPE oil is a special lubricant that is non-reactive to oxygen and 100% non-flammable, ensuring total safety for the pump and machinery. It is also optimal for use in the food industry because it is completely odorless and colorless.

DVP Lubricated Vane Vacuum Pumps with PFPE oil are highly resistant to water vapor suction and are equipped with FKM rubber components, features that make them widely used in the food packaging industry.

For further details on PFPE oil download the safety data sheet.

DVP Side Channel Blowers

DVP side channel blowers: what are they for, how do they work, and where are they used?

What are side channel blowers used for?

DVP Side channel blowers are blowers designed to compress or suck clean air, air or gas mixtures and inert gases.
Compared to traditional Rotary vane vacuum pumps, they guarantee a total absence of maintenance and maximum silence in the working area.
Installation is simple and does not require any particular effort: it is sufficient to consult the installation manual and follow the suggested procedure step by step.

How do they work?

The working principle of DVP Side channel blowers is based on the rotation of an impeller equipped with small vanes inside a stator.
Thanks to the centrifugal force generated by the rotation. air vortexes are created that are dragged by the intake vanes towards the discharge.
The operation of these turbines is dry, i.e., without lubrication, and ensures the absence of oil from compressed fluids.

Where are they used?

It is possible to use them on machines and industrial plants that require suction and delivery pressures, maximum operational safety, and low noise emissions.
In the environmental sector their use is particularly suitable for the oxygenation and purification of wastewater and in waste disposal plants.
The DVP blowers can also be used in the field of pneumatic conveying in suction and compression for the handling of dusty materials and in the industry of food packaging automatic lines.

Discover the full range of DVP side channel blowers!

DVP supplies a wide range of single-stage, double-stage, double-parallel stage, and triple-stage turbines with single-phase or three-phase high-efficiency IE3 motors. Some models are available with front suction inlet. All versions can be used as compressors. If used as a compressor, the output flow is clean and free of pulsations.

DVP supports Co-op Campi d'Arte for social inclusion

DVP's support to Campi d'Arte Co-op for social inclusion

For this Christmas and all 2022, DVP Vacuum Technology wants to be at the side of its territory and therefore chooses to give its contribution to the Social Cooperative Campi d'Arte located in San Pietro in Casale.

Campi d'Arte is a cooperative founded in 2004 by the desire to focus on the promotion of the person through work and social inclusion and collaborates with local institutions for the implementation of activities dedicated to the most vulnerable people.

The Cooperative provides personalized educational services, aimed at overcoming the conditions of disadvantage that could leave the fragile individuals out of society. By means of artisanal production, the Cooperative aims to spread an ethical and fair trade that values and respects those who produce and promotes the social responsibility of those who buy.

The support of the company and DVP staff will take the form of the purchase of products made in the Laboratory of San Pietro in Casale by the people who work together every day, over and above differences and disabilities.

Support Campi d'Arte projects too!

dvp motorsport electric car

DVP collaborates with UniBo Motorsport to produce the electric race car

As a manufacturer of vacuum technologies applied to the processing of composite materials and as a promoter of sustainable innovation, DVP enthusiastically welcomed the collaboration with UniBo Motorsport to produce the Elettra GN electric formula-style car.

Founded in 2009 by a group of engineering students with a common passion for the world of cars and motorcycles, UniBo Motorsport is the Racing Team of the University of Bologna. The competition challenges teams of university students to conceive, design, fabricate, develop, and compete with formula style race cars.

Unveiled in July, Elettra GN is the result of an efficient teamwork based on the cohesion between each Team member and the exchange of information and knowledge, to optimize all the development phases of the project. The students thus had the opportunity to discuss and put into practice the knowledge acquired during the academic years about electric cars and eco-friendly mobility.

For the construction of the carbon fiber body shell, the Racing Team of the University of Bologna  used NEPTUNUS 25, a DVP Vacuum System, with 25-liter tank and LC 25 Vacuum Pump, specially customized according to the technical needs of the team.

The vacuum created by the DVP Vacuum System during the vacuum bagging process not only made the laminate extremely compact, but also removed the moisture in the composite material and excess resin, maximizing the overall stiffness and performance of the resulting product.

DVP strongly believes in collaboration aimed at sustainable innovation and is therefore pleased to support with its technology these students, who dedicate themselves with commitment and motivation to the success of this ambitious educational project.
